Basquiat Tote

Folks, you’re hearing it here first. I predict the next Carrie Bradshaw-approved must-have accessory will be a canvas tote that says…Out Getting Ribs. Hear me out.  

Last summer, my best friend and I visited the Basquiat exhibit in NYC. The exhibit included a recreation of the outside facade of Basquiat’s apartment on which he had left a note that read “Out Getting Ribs”—eliciting a chuckle from yours truly. During the obligatory browse through the gift shop at the end of the exhibit, I was utterly delighted to find a canvas tote that read, you guessed it, Out Getting Ribs. There was no second guessing that the tote was coming home with me. 

Fast forward several months. I’m scrolling through Instagram one day and see footage of SJP filming And Just Like That, carrying that tote. My tote! Cheaper than a Fendi baguette or a pair of Manolo Blahniks, I predict legions of SATC fans will soon be telling the world they’re out getting ribs!
